Best Cruise Lines 2017
As we approach the end of 2017 the best Cruise ships in the world have been revealed. Many awards were handed out including Best Cruise Ship at the Cruise Critic UK Editors’ Picks Awards. There were several different categories but I thought I would highlight a few of my favourites.
This award went to Celebrity Cruises. I have been lucky enough to be taken on a tour of some of their more expensive cabins and I do have to say I definitely agree with this one. Below is a shot was taken in one of their suites. They really were amazing, but very expensive. I guess I always think it’s best to way up how much time you are going to actually spend in your cabin as to whether it’s worth the cost, but really it’s just down to personal preference and what you prefer on your cruise.
Celebrity also won the award for Most Romantic Cruise Line. There are so many places on the ships that you would be able to spend ‘Date Night’. One of my favourite parts of the ship was the Lawn Club. Yep, real grass on the top deck! You could go up there and just have a drink at the bar and admire the view or you could help your self to one of the picnic blankets provided and just relax on the grass.
Best UK & British Isles Port of Call
The winner of this award was Guernsey. I would definitely agree with this one. It’s one of my favourite places to stop when cruising. So pretty and so much to do there. You could just take the tender from the ship and you are straight into the town, free to wander around the shops and pop into one of the many cafes.
Best Ship Refurbishment
This award was rightly given to the Cunard ship Queen Victoria. I sailed on her last year and we had the most incredible time. Such a beautiful ship, and so much to discover and do around every corner. We went on before the refurbishment and I still thought that it was a beautiful ship, so I can’t wait to get the chance to sail on her again and see what’s changed.
Best for Families
MSC Cruises was named Best for Families. Earlier this year I spent the day on board the MSC Preziosa and it was very much aimed at explaining to us what MSC has on offer for families and I would say they do it very well. They have various areas covering all ages with loads of activities on offer. They really are a cruise line that is very much gearing themselves up towards families and it seems to be working.
What do you think about the results? Do you agree or do you have another favourite cruise line that you always sail with? Let me know in the comments below.
