Cruising at Christmas

Cruising at Christmas

Cruising at Christmas can be really magical. There are so many different options you can choose from if you want traditional colder weather or you want to go for something completely different and head for hotter climbs. The sky really is the limit.

Christmas Markets

Obviously because of the time of year Christmas cruises can be really pricey. But one way to get in the Christmas Spirit without actually being away for Christmas is to book a Christmas Market Cruise. These normally start from the beginning of December and tend to be shorter mini cruises around Europe. You stop off in various European cities that hold amazing Christmas Markets. I cruised with P&O to Amsterdam and Brussels and I loved it. You can read about my cruise here.

The ship was decorated for Christmas. There were garlands and Christmas trees everywhere as you wandered around. Then, of course, we were able to go and visit some really interesting Christmas Markets. It was such a nice way to get in the mood for Christmas at the being of December without having to pay out too much. So it’s definitely something to consider if you are looking for that taste of Christmas.

Cruise for Christmas

There are so many choices if you do want to get away for Christmas and even New Years as well. You can get a cruise that will cover both holidays while you are on board. There are various options from the Mediterranean or if you are looking for hotter weather and the beach on Christmas day then you could choose the Caribbean. Either way, a cruise opens up options to you that mean you really could be spending Christmas anywhere in the world.

Enjoy a Luxury Christmas

As much as I love Christmas it can be such a busy time of year and sometimes you just want to get away from it all. Choosing to Cruise at Christmas means that someone else gets to cook Christmas dinner. You can spend it sailing around the world on the most luxury ships, completely decked out for the festive season while someone serves you the most amazing Christmas dinner. Doesn’t sound bad to me.

I have never actually cruised over the Christmas period….yet! But it is most definitely on my list and it’s something that I just can’t wait to try!

Have you cruised at Christmas? Or have you booked something for this year? Let me know in the comments below.
