P&O New Ship
Some brilliant news. It has just been announced that Carnival has made an agreement for P&O to build a brand new ship.
The ship is being built exclusively for the British market. It is due for release in 2020. It will hold 5200 passengers and will be the largest by far in the P&O fleet.
It is part of the Green Cruising Design. This means it is powered by liquefied natural gas and so is a lot more environmentally friendly.
“This ship will be the largest in the P&O Cruises fleet, will have a striking new exterior and interior design and will comprehensively embrace the company’s classic and iconic features. Innovative new guest experiences will be announced soon.”
Having previously sailed on the Britannia, currently P&O’s largest ship. I can’t wait to go on the new one when it sets sail. The Britannia is a beautiful ship and offers so much more to do than the smaller members of the fleet.
I think this is brilliant news for P&O that they are expanding their fleet and going in a slightly different direction. It’s opening the cruise market up to a whole new audience and is really exciting for the British cruise market.
What do you think of the first details of P&O’s New Ship? Is it a ship that you are going to want to sail on or do you prefer their more traditional cruise ships? Or maybe P&O’s new ship may encourage you to try your first cruise with P&O? Let us know in the comments below.
