If you are a young person and you are thinking of going on your first cruise then there are a few things to remember, that can really help you make the most of your holiday. Things that you may not have thought of but could really help you make your first cruise fantastic. Why break to mould and smash the stereotypes and be a young cruiser. You never know you might just love it!

Check In

When you book your cruise, you will be issued with a ticket that has an embarkation time on it. If you are flying to your ship, obviously this will determine the time. But if you boarding the ship in your own country. Then you are able to be more leisurely about your arrival time. If for some reason you arrive early, and embarkation is quiet they will normally let you board early. That way you can start your holiday, straight away. Sometimes it’s worth the risk.

The Cabin

If you are on your first cruise, this is maybe something you hadn’t even thought of. But picking your cabin can be really pivotal to your holiday. Whether you are on a budget or can afford to splash out a bit. There are lots of things to take into consideration when booking your cabin. Don’t Exchange Currency on board

If you are going on your first cruise you may not have thought about changing your money. But if you forget then you can do it onboard at the ship’s reception desk. But if you can avoid this, it’s best to try. Ships don’t tend to offer the best exchange rate. So either try to do it before you go or if you don’t have time, then just change your money in port.

Take an Extra Bag

One thing that no one really tells you, I certainly never knew the first time I went on a cruise. You will need to pack and leave your bags outside your room the night before you disembark. You have to do this so your bags are ready to be taken off the ship the next morning and will be left for you to pick up when you leave. So pack an extra, empty holdall. This will mean you can keep anything with you need overnight and in the morning. Then you will only have one small bag to carry with you in the morning as you are leaving the ship. Take a look at Bags Etc for some brilliant luggage options.
